Garmin 530 squelch setting?

Anyone know the significance of the SQ 250 number? Been having noise issues and would like to adjust it.

Just a little follow up on this. After having an avionics guy look at it and mess with the settings, nothing changed. Half way home from LA this morning I looked at my iPad cord and thought hmm. Unplugged it and like magic, all back to normal!

There are a few threads around here for iPad chargers that have less interference...

With the old analog radios... it was easy to hear how well charged your cell phone was...

Some of our radios do a nice job of ignoring the charging sounds...

apparently, not everything has this cool ignoring skill...

Then there is a thread for independent power sources you can also use...
