201Steve Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 Hey guys, I am ordering an Insight G2 engine monitor for my 77J. I made the order and then my A&P suddenly passed away. I need to tell them which fuel flow transducer Mount I want with the kit and I have no idea. Any insight on which to select? There are 3 options: inline, firewall, and spine. Pictures below. Quote
Guest Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 I’d suggest the inline mounting, it’s what I’ve installed for customers with J models. You’ll need to get or fabricate new hoses as this goes between the engine fuel pump and fuel injection servo. Clarence Quote
ZuluZulu Posted October 28, 2020 Report Posted October 28, 2020 Sorry to hear about your A&P. 2 Quote

And then, I should get the version “for engines with two fuel pumps” (As opposed to gravity fed)? I assume 2 meaning, it has a mechanical and an electric boost pump. Quote
PT20J Posted October 28, 2020 Report Posted October 28, 2020 Byron @jetdriven has some pictures on the site showing how he mounted his Flowscan transducer and yours should mount the same way. Mooney mounted them in the same location when installed at the factory, except they used a bracket that attached to the engine sump. The IPC has the hose lengths necessary to mount the Flowscan. I used the following: Fuel pump to flow transducer: 124J003-6CR0116 Flow transducer to servo: 124J001-6CR0106 Skip Quote
carusoam Posted October 28, 2020 Report Posted October 28, 2020 High wing aircraft have the gravity fed Option... And their both position on the selector switch... Sorry to hear about the lost mechanic... Double check the length of the engine instrument... it may be the G3 that is extra long, making panel mounting an extra challenge... this was a tough decision for @Cris... he wanted one, and had to settle for the other... The insight engine monitor is really nice at presenting the leaning details... it can do a Gami spread each time you lean, following the instructions.... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

You need the version for a pressure system not the gravity system as in a carbureted Cessna. Clarence Quote
