Damn i need to post a picture of my engine with the cowl off to let doc see what is not right with my setup. Great eye doc!

A few pictures, your logbooks and $100 should get the Annual wrapped up!

A few items of interest in your picture.  Your oil filter appears to be wired to your engine mount, (they don’t vibrate at the same rate,)the clamp securing the oil cooler transfer hose is loose, the back shell clamp on the firewall cable is missing and it appears the cabin side of the connector doesn’t appear to be secured to the firewall.

OH my goodness! So sorry. Aside from the oil filter safety wire. I was aware of the other stuff. the picture was from when I was having some major avionics work done. So they were working on getting all the new engine sensors in through the firewall from that plug. :)

It is all properly sealed up, and tight currently :)

The safety wire from the filter is a new one for me. That is how it has been since I bought it. It makes total sense, and I will take care of that as soon as I am able. Can you suggest a good spot to tie it to? Thanks for the keen observations!

I missed one other, the oil pressure transducer appears to be screwed directly into the engine, normally they are installed in the end of a hose and remotely mounted.

Interesting, this was during the install of a gi-275 and I don't recall if it was in the install manual to do it that way? But I could fix this if needed as well. Thank you so much!!

There is a hole drilled for the safety wire, but almost any fixed spot on the engine will work as long as the all vibrate together.

Transducers have a shorter life when screwed directly into the engine, on a hose or remotely mounted is better.

makes sense. I will have this fixed in a couple months during annual. I want to replace the last fuel line, and the upper oil cooler line as I feel they need it. So will get a new line for the transducer too. Thanks for the pointers! I super appreciate it!

An FAA rep told a story at one of the IA seminars about a crash investigation where the aircraft records showed the annual was completed and signed off a few days after the aircraft was destroyed in a crash.   It turned out the owners had sent the logbooks with a bunch of photographs to the IA, who signed the logs and sent them back just after the crash, unaware.

Oops.  ;)

And the IA is now a Walmart greeter.

It all looked fine to me which is exactly why I don’t work on my own airplane!

Don't know if @cnoe could use more info, but I thought to take these photos today.  They pretty clearly show the setup in our '83 J which has the dual mag.

Aha!   Does anybody know where one can get the orange gasket material that you have in the gap between the cooler and the baffle with the spikey things that go through the holes to hold it in place?    I've been looking all over for a source for that stuff, or a part number or something.

The IPC only shows a Mooney part number 620051-001, so it might be a custom part. Maybe you can order it from an MSC, or perhaos Frank Crawford at Mooney would tell you the vendor. When we installed the new engine, we just glued on some silicone bulb seal that the shop had around from some other project.

I got it by buying a "new" Mooney!
