ThorFlight Posted December 28, 2019 Report Posted December 28, 2019 (edited) This video came up in my YouTube feed and I thought it was good enough to share here. It has some pretty views of Denmark from well appointed M20E. Anyone have thoughts on what looks like 3 bulb LED "landing lights" mounted on the upper gear door? Edited December 29, 2019 by ThorFlight Clarify that I am not the creator of the video linked in the post. 2 Quote
aviatoreb Posted December 28, 2019 Report Posted December 28, 2019 WOW. How did you get those camera angles? It seems as if you have a camera floating but just in front of the right wing maybe 1 or 2 ft. Beautiful shots. I have been to Denmark and been out in the waters on boats and by the sea on land, and that country makes me think of the Vikings - very cool seeing that same terrain by air in your video. E Quote
ThorFlight Posted December 28, 2019 Author Report Posted December 28, 2019 Not my video or plane. In the shots right before engine start, you can see the camera mounted on a pole attached below the leading edge. 2 Quote
gsxrpilot Posted December 28, 2019 Report Posted December 28, 2019 I think this is the camera he's got mounted on a stick probably from the tie down ring under the right wing. Trent Palmer uses the same camera on his Kitfox. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GXBYYWN/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07GXBYYWN&linkCode=as2&tag=trentpalmerst-20&linkId=5baaf7fecac080d3f06ebb4e2c16fdee I love the effect. I'm curious about the camera mounted to the ceiling. The video makes it look like it's mounted on a stabilized gyro. Is that the GoPro 8 or is it a gyro mount? A very well done video by the way. Thanks for posting. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted December 29, 2019 Report Posted December 29, 2019 Wow! Way to film Mooney aviation, Thor! the camera on a stick is really interesting... thanks for sharing the details. It really is a beautiful, well appointed M20E. Did not see the 3 bulb light referenced earlier... Best regards, -a- Quote
ArtVandelay Posted December 29, 2019 Report Posted December 29, 2019 You can see the stick shadow against the plane, cool camera shots.Tom 1 Quote
EricJ Posted December 29, 2019 Report Posted December 29, 2019 I'm trying to figure out how he does multiple take-offs and the entire flight with the cowl flaps closed. My engine would last about two minutes that way. Quote
