Recently I bought a used 201 Mooney and the glass is milky looking. I keep the plane in Bakersfield and wonder where a good place to get all the windows changed. I got a quote from the paint shop in Santa Maria and one at my airport in Bakersfield but would like your comments on getting them changed and maybe better pricing. I found the part numbers and prices for the glass and decided to use all Solar Gray. -- I was also thinking about repainting the plane but not sure if I want to do that right now. The paint is not real good but some rubbing compond and wax with some touch up's might work. -- Thanks for your replys and comments.

Mine are pretty crappy looking too, has anyone tried using those lens cleaning kits I’ve seen for sale in the auto parts stores?

I am thinking about getting mine replaced too.  I am curious what the cost would be to replace all the glass.

Labor might be expensive but side windows can be replaced as owner maintenance.  Windshield cannot.  LP Aero windshield is 486$, the 1/4" glass is 569$.   Side windows add up to 800$ for all of them, with vent window.  If you want 1/4" or UV tint, that is more.

have a brand new micromesh kit that should make your windows look like new.  the downside is it takes 5-6 hours to do a thorough job.  i think it cost $36...i'll sell it to you for $25 plus postage if you want to tackle the project yourself.

I'm very happy with the results in mine, but like others said, the side windows didn't seem difficult (my mechanic did all of them).  I was there when he did the front windshield and that part is a bear to fit correctly involving many times placing it, removing it and shaping/shaving a little more off, try again, and keep going until it fit right.  I wouldn't want that task!
