DXB Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 Um...photos of this "unique" display appeared on the Mooney FB page Quote
Hank Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 Wow! No engine but still has a drip pad . . . The tail outside looks neat (but different), but I don't understand having the rest of the plane inside . . . . . 3 Quote

aviatoreb Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 Those things just don't go together. I don't get it. 1 Quote
David_H Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 If you sit in the plane you can pretend fly into a pole. 2 Quote
0TreeLemur Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 For those who like the smell of old airplane enough to want to sleep with it?? Quote
orionflt Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 that's for those cold winter days/nights where you want to fly, but do not want to leave the house. Brian 2 Quote
charlesual Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 Guess if he gets tired of the lack of floor space he can part it out next to the warm fireplace and insert a log patch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Runway37 Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 This has great simulator potential. 1 Quote
EricJ Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 Since Al is one of the more thermally-conductive materials around, that will efficiently suck heat out of the cabin and radiate it back into the outdoors via the tail feathers. Quote

Doesn't look like it goes through the wall. You can see where the fuse was scalloped to match the logs on the outside and screwed into them. Quote

DXB Posted March 11, 2019 Author Report Posted March 11, 2019 (edited) To each his own, but I am not amused to see a vintage Mooney defiled in this manner. A Cirrus version might be more amusing. Maybe attach the chute to the roof of the cabin? Edited March 11, 2019 by DXB 1 Quote
Runway37 Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 At least the logs are complete. Agree with it not going through the wall ( tail support ). Unless it's one of those rare aircraft carrier Mooneys. 1 1 Quote
MikeOH Posted March 13, 2019 Report Posted March 13, 2019 I have seen the Pyramids of Egypt. I've even witnessed a grown man satisfy a camel. But never in all my years have I witnessed something as improbable, as impossible, as what we've witnessed here! 1 Quote
chriscalandro Posted March 13, 2019 Report Posted March 13, 2019 I see what might be a good voltage regulator. 1 Quote

whiskytango Posted March 13, 2019 Report Posted March 13, 2019 I hope that this plane was already severely corrosion damaged, and could not have economically been made airworthy before it was sliced and diced. Even if it was un-airworthy, there are probably a number of usable parts that could have been harvested. What a waste! Quote

Runway37 Posted March 13, 2019 Report Posted March 13, 2019 Small world. The gentleman that apparently sold this airplane in 2006, owns my old 64E N6907U http://www.airport-data.com/photographers/n1282x:1459 My old E is basically a chandelier and this one seems to be some sort of coffee table or something. I sense a decorating trend... Quote
steingar Posted March 13, 2019 Report Posted March 13, 2019 The two photos of the tail don't match. Amateur photoshop at its finest. And who ever put the tail number in small letters on the empennage? Isn't even a decent deep fake. Quote
