After ten years of owner/ops with N8335E, I have finally had enough with the original baffles.  The center section had fretted edges at the  right/left lap joints, busted up and patched pieces were the norm.  So, rebuilt all cyl. attached pieces with .040, stiffened up the center section to eliminate all that vibration with full length angled pieces in the lap joints.  any way, take a look.  Joe

Ooohhh!! That's beautiful!! I'm jealous.

Can you share who did the work and where? Might get some more business. Personally, I've yet to find a sheet metal guy not scared of airplane work

LASAR has a few items still in stock, but can inquire the factory to see if they have any stock, or will make something.

Too bad that Airforms isn’t still making Mooney baffles… my understanding was that there were too many ‘variations’ in the parts fitment so they quit.  I had to rework a factory baffle myself when I replaced some pieces about 15 years ago.  Now I’ve made some patches on new cracks that were the same cracks as the old baffles.

If they’re not too far gone they can be patched up with some basic sheet metal skills.  Otherwise, eBay and salvage yards.

I was very lucky to find a nice clean doghouse that matched my C on Ebay, and I installed it when I overhauled my engine.  The favorable impact on cooling even after having previously done everything I could to patch up my decrepit old one was dramatic.

Sadly folks are unlikely to find any help from LASAR (which effectively IS the Mooney factory now) or anyone else with their doghouses. Owners without sheetmetal working skills / resources are likely out of luck. And these doghouses were still intrinsically terrible cooling designs even in perfect condition and degrade pretty quickly from vibration.

Still hoping for the @Sabremech as a more durable solution....
