Kx 155 .where to get work done ?

I have a ka 155 14 v in my 66 E and the display dims in the dark ! Is great in the light , when it gets dark dims so much have to shine flashlight to get to light up any ideas? Would love to here some other than that the 155 works great !

These are the guys I used to work on my King radio a while back.  I pulled the radio and shipped it to them.  Quick turn too.  I think I had it back in just over a week.

I had a very bad experience with bevanraball.com about 5 years ago. I was charged almost $1000 for sending the radio to them and and they didn't repair anything. After the radio was returned I found out the fault was in the Audio Panel.

I had a rather bad experience with them as well.  They did the work they were asked to do, but should have known the real fault with the device lied elsewhere.  Big waste of money, and they should have known better.  Been avoiding them ever since.  the guys at Mayday treated me square.

You need the light sensor replaced. It's a photocell.  A cheap part and a common repair.

Swapping out the light sensor...

is that something that gets done locally, or is that part of the BK domain grab?

Light sensor ! That's what I thought ! But everyone I talk to says it is the display and needs to be replaced! Around $2000.00 ! Will talk to my A&P today and see what he has to say !

Thanks for all the suggestions ! Went with TGH Aviation out of Auburn Ca ! Was best price on an overhaul unit ! Will let everyone know how it works out ! Thanks again.
