Skyatty Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I am going to replace my ELT battery. The Narco manual requires use of a "sealant" around the perimeter of the top part of the ELT, where the circuit board is located and then a small bead in each of the four screw holes. Anyone have any idea what kind of sealant is intended? Quote
takair Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 When you get a replacement from MERL, it comes with a small bag of what appears to be DC4 or some type of grease. This is intended to be the seal. I have never seen anything but this on an ELT-10. Quote
Skyatty Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 Got the answer from a well-respected Mooney shop - clear RTV. Job is done, simple and straight forward. Quote
