Hi,  I'm in the process of installing a heated pitot on my 64 M20c/d.  It's a relatively easy process since Mooney was thoughtful enough to pre-install the pitot wire and leave a pre-label the space for the switch.  My only problem (other than the high cost of the certified pitot, breaker switch and mast) seems to be which fitting I should use from the 1/4" plastic nylaflow tubing to the new AN 4 flare fitting of the pitot tube.  I've included some pictures.  Any suggestion for a source of part number would be greatly appreciated.  JIMG_4428.thumb.JPG.22201040b12ec0cb892b1872f8a3df68.JPGoe

The parts catalog says to use a Mooney part # 820015-000 extension assembly coupled to a Swagelok A-400-6 coupling.

I believe the Mooney assembly is just an AN6 B-Nut on a short piece of tubing. The two pieces of tubing are then connected with the Swagelok fitting.

If there is a compression fitting that goes on the tubing...

1) assume it got compressed once. Inspect closely for proof like a uniform scratch in the surface.

2) it's chance of sealing properly again are not worth considering.

3) It will only cost a few cents to get the piece from swagelock.

4) cut off the old one, it will shorten the tube an inch?

PP thoughts only not a mechanic.

Best regards,
