Are those rivets around your fuel tank?  Looks more like something leaking out than smoking rivets.

Smoking rivets look more like this.

all of these were on top of both wings and were basically all over.  more than just around the tanks.  and, not my plane, one that is for sale and looks like it needs a lot of work.

Hard to tell without touching them, but that looks more like corrosion treatment spray (e.g., AC50, Corrosion-X etc)  wicking up through the rivets and seams which is normal after treatment for quite some time. When you look at the seams, you see the same oily looking residue on both sides and that's what what leads me to think that. If the a rivet is indeed smokin, it'll be a bit loose in the hole - these don't have that appearance nor the smoke trail that teg916 is showing - which is what you should see.

BD, not my plane, one that was for sale a while back and I flew out of the field where it's kept today so I snapped a few pics.

thanks guys, sounds like less of an issue than i thought.

Yup, mine did the same thing after I sprayed down the airframe with Corrosion-X. That is not what a smoking rivet looks like.

I did Corrosion X over a year and a half ago and am still seeing rivets like that. You guys are on it. It does look bad when you first see it.

It will be worst after a warm sunny day if you normally hangar the plane and have parked it outside.

That is a mix of corrosionX blended with the aluminum micro specks that are being cleaned out of the tight spaces...

My C would bleed for at least a Month after annual this way.

Smoking rivets look very similar for the same reasons, but don't stop a month after annual.

Clean and repeat..

Some people complain that a good corrosion treatment weeps for a year or more.
