I trust Ed Kollin and I trust Jetdriven. Anyone who can talk for hours about molecular chains and anyone who flys 747's gets my vote!

You guys should be using Lycoming's LW16702 "camshaft in a bottle". It's their recommendation and required by an AD for the 76 series engine.

Yea, from the same guys who designed those wonderful "we don't need no steenkin valve stem lubrication" IO360's and produced those pillow soft cam lobes so as to not put too much installed height spring pressure on the valve seats.

Whatever...

It's a matter of trust. Personally I place my trust to take care of my engine in Aeroshell. Produced by a global petrochemicals leader established over 100 years ago with 265 billion$ annual revenue.

They know what they're doing.

So did Mobile....oh wait....never mind...

Ed Kollin of CamGuard presents at Summit every year. His knowledge is convincing to this perpetual skeptic. I've have had 2 bad cams/lifters on relatively low time engines and had another IO360 A1A swallow an exhaust valve so I'm always quizzing the experts.

Ed has presented at the last 2 Summits, and each year has presented factual data vs. marketing hype and opinion, saving comments like "they have been in business 100 years and know what they are doing" for other all knowing individuals. I thought for sure more of our female attendees would be interested in the science of lubrication, but alas, the lure of the beach on the final day was too strong...

I know I don't remember correctly, but Ed was talking about something to do with Lycoming and that 'SB' or whatever and that he was working on being the official replacement for that--someone who wrote it down, or remembers better can weigh in. He was also talking about working on something and then his point of contact died and the project has subsequently started from scratch, I definitely cannot remember if this was the same thing, or two totally separate narratives.
