New Garden Festival of Flight Air Show (N57)

For those of you looking for something to do this month, my home airport (N57) is holding it's annual airshow on August 20th and 21st. Details of the show can be found here: http://www.newgardenflyingfield.com/index-8.html

I'll check out the link but what are the landing fees and times you can fly into the show? Will the field be closed at times for aerobatics?

I will check on the closure time. It is only closed during the aerobatic routines. There is no landing fee.

The NOTAM for airport closure will read from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM for both days.

Just a reminder that New Garden's airshow is this weekend. If you plan on attending, please drop me a note. Here is a copy of the NOTAM details. There is a 5k run around the airport on the 21st. Me and the girls will be sitting that one out.

N57 AIRPORT NOTAM (Air Show)

AIRPORT OPERATIONS (PLEASE READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE LIST OF UPCOMING AIRPORT NOTAMS AND AIRPORT INFORMATION). RUNWAY CLOSURE INFO IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL.

Good afternoon Tenants and Customers of New Garden Flying Field. Please note changes in daily operations below and NOTAM times for runway, taxiway and ramp closures due to upcoming air show.

MAIN TIE DOWN RAMP CLOSURE

Our main tie down ramp will be closed starting Tuesday (August 16th)-Sunday (August 21st) for setup of the Festival of Flight Air and Car Show. If your aircraft is currently located in this area you are fine and no further action is needed at this time. Airport staff will relocate your aircraft to a temporary tie down during this closure. If you plan on flying into N57 during this time the AIRPORT IS OPEN but expect special directions on parking once you arrive. Monitor UNICOM 123.05.

RUNWAY CLOSURES FOR THE FESTIVAL OF FLIGHT AIR AND CAR SHOW

N57 will remain OPEN expect for the following times for normal operations. Transient aircraft are welcome and encouraged to fly into the event.

RUNWAY CLOSED- (Friday August 19th- 2pm- 4:30pm), (Saturday August 20th- 11:30am-4:30pm), (Sunday August 21st- 7am-9:30am and 11:30am-4:30pm).

PLEASE PLAN YOUR ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES AROUND THESE TIMES. Due to nature of the air show there will be a temporary TFR in place.

HANGAR TENANTS

If you are located in hangar row 1000 behind the old airport office your hangar will be blocked in with vendor setups starting Thursday August 18th. If you need to be relocated to a tie down or hangar for the weekend please let Airport Operations know as soon as possible and we will have your aircraft relocated.

EVENT FLY-IN TRAFFIC

Fly-in traffic is welcome and encouraged to attend the Festival of Flight Air Show. Please plan your arrival before 11:30am. Due to increased levels of air traffic during Air Show weekend please take note of the following fly-in procedures.

ENTER THE AIRPORT'S PATTERN ON A 45 DEGREE ENTRY TO DOWNWIND. Pattern altitude is 1500' MSL. Standard left hand patterns for 24 and 06.

Landing 24- If able please land and clear at the end of the runway. You will clear the runway off to the right where you can start your full length taxi on the parallel taxiway. At this point you will see a flagger which will direct you to parking. PLEASE DO NOT BACK TAXI ON THE RUNWAY TO CLEAR.

Landing 06 - If able please make the first turnoff on your left. You will clear to the left midfield and be directed to parking at that point. If you are unable to make the first turnoff please clear at the end of the runway and hold after clearing the threshold markers and wait for further direction on 123.05.

PLEASE MONITOR UNICOM 123.05 at all times (AIR AND GROUND).
