Any suggestions on replacing the ivory/white colored round gear knob. They typically screw on and have a set-screw. Mine no longer screws on. Appears stripped. The allen screw holds it firm and in place and I've had this way since owning the plane (5 yrs now). Since I jumped in the deep in on my panel and also just sent my interior panels to Aero Comfort my AP suggested I might source a new knob while I was at it. Mine is pretty worn out.  I guess I could try Mooney direct. Don't know if they have changed over the years. Just wondering if anyone had replaced theirs and sourced it someplace else?

It would be interesting to carve one and out a blind nut in the bottom. I have some nice, dry ash, apple, magnolia and Holly, which should all be pretty light-colored. The ultimate "owner produced" part!  :P  what's the thread size?

That would be very custom..The plane is in many, many pieces at the shop. Next time I'm over there I'll check. Right now I see nothing but a table full of old avionics and baggies with screws, nuts and bolts. Sure hope they remember where it all goes :)

Do you know anyone with a 3D printer?

As someone who orders quite a bit from 3D Printers, I would advise against this. At least, with ABS plastic, that is. My stratux case lives on the glareshield and I just had to order another one due to the "threads" on this one starting to split apart. It never gets handled (pun intended).
