Hi everyone I'm new to the group. I'm currently in the process of converting from piper to money and couldn't be happier. I'm buying an 89 bravo so it's a bit of a step up from my 64' Cherokee 235. I've been reading through these forums for last few days and found lots of good info. Seems like you guys really love your planes and have a good community here.

Thanks for the Mooney props and welcome ha ha C I beat you. Never flown in the Piper but have had the chance to fly a Bravo quite an impressive airplane. Good luck and as others have pointed out get some transition training with some one with Mooney experience. What region do you call home.

Oh I'm planning on transition training. I am from Amarillo TX but my job is 100% travel so home is all over the place. Perfect job for a pilot. I'm still in the TX area but only for a couple more months.

Congratulations and welcome! Texas is thenMooney heartland, should have a good selection of excellent instructors to finish your "conversion" to Mooney style.

I want a job that will allow me to fly my mooney everywhere. If you don't mind me asking, what is it that you do?

I work for Vestas. Their a wind turbine manufacturer and I work on new construction projects. I usually change sites every couple months. I don't necessarily fly for work but I do travel from site to site in my plane instead of flying commercial. I'm not commercial rated so I don't get paid to fly but maybe someday.

Casey welcome to the Bravo family good luck with your plane and training. Your change from a piper will be quite a challenge, I'd advise to get a solid Mooney long body instructor. I went from a piper in 1987 to now my third Mooney. Again welcome and safe and fun flying..also great choice of a plane.

Casey,

Welcome and congrats on getting a Bravo. I moved from a J to a Bravo a couple of years ago and It is an amazing airplane. Please let us know what questions you have and, as others have said, definitely get transition training from someone that knows Mooneys and specifically the Bravo.

Vestas is the company that funded the "Vestas Sail Rocket" ( http://sailrocket.com/ ) - It's almost as fast as a Mooney :D.
