jrwilson Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 Anyone know what type of visor system is installed? I have these mounts and then some visors with no attachment brackets on them (Sorry, no pictures. They have the original cruise power charts screen printed on them). Any idea where I can get parts for them so I can attach the visors? Thanks! Quote
Hank Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 Those look like the original Mooney visor mounts to me. The ones in my C are just like that, except the outer end is chunkier on my old ones. Quote
jrwilson Posted December 15, 2015 Author Report Posted December 15, 2015 Ok thank you. I'll call Mooney and see if they have them. Quote
ArtVandelay Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 Ok thank you. I'll call Mooney and see if they have them. If you have the visors and just need the brackets, a good substitute is a wire clamp (might be called something else), it's a metal clamp with rubber. 1 Quote

Can you attach a picture of what you're thinking? I did a google search and I don't see how it would maintain position against the tube to stay in place. Quote
cnoe Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 Commonly called an adel clamp in avaition. The kind shown/referenced here has a small elastomer "spike" (for lack of a better word) that "grips" whatever is being held in place. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/ms21919clampswch.php They come in all different sizes. 2 Quote
jrwilson Posted December 15, 2015 Author Report Posted December 15, 2015 thank you! I love the outside the box, inexpensive thinking! Quote
Yetti Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 You can make your own visors with some tinted plexiglass cut with a saw. Quote
Carl S Posted June 30, 2016 Report Posted June 30, 2016 Even if one makes visors, one still needs to mount them. I am now in the same predicament as the OP because the factory attachments have hardened, degraded, and finally broken. I too like the adel clamp idea. Quote
Yetti Posted June 30, 2016 Report Posted June 30, 2016 The adel clamp that is used on the Lycoming injection lines works pretty well. A stainless cap nut and stainless screw make it just like factory, Except they did not use stainless hardware. Quote
jrwilson Posted June 30, 2016 Author Report Posted June 30, 2016 Can you post a picture of the lycoming clamp? The mooney part was pricey for small bits of plastic... Quote
jrwilson Posted June 30, 2016 Author Report Posted June 30, 2016 I ended up going with the factory parts but when they break... Quote
Yetti Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Sorry for the confusion. The clamps used for the fuel line is just an Adel clamp. I think that is 3/16" rod for the visors so a DG3. Might get sizes on either side of that to see which one fits best. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/ms21919clamps.php Quote
