Cervelorod Posted November 15, 2015 Report Posted November 15, 2015 I'm within 3-4 weeks, based on my schedule, for taking my commercial check ride. I don't have a DPE close, and am trying to find an examiner. I have family in the boise area and that would be ideal for me. Does anyone have a recommendation of a DPE in Boise, Meridian, or Caldwell area? I am taking it in my M20F. thanks, Rod Quote
Will W Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 Don't know if you'll find a recommendation or not but here is the complete list of examiners. I'm not sure which FSDO you're in but hope this helps. http://av-info.faa.gov/DesigneeSearch.asp *Edit* Boise area is "NM11" looks like you have 11 options. Is your instructor not recommending someone? I always suggest going with an examiner your CFI knows the test of so that you know all parts going in. Quote
M20F Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 Have you asked your CFI for a reccomendation? Quote
Cervelorod Posted November 16, 2015 Author Report Posted November 16, 2015 The guy he used to use has retired and he hasn't sent anyone for a check ride in a couple of years. The DPE that the other FBO uses put my buddy through a 7 hour PPL check ride. I'm afraid a commercial ride might take 2 days... I saw that list, but wondered if anyone here had used an examiner who has at least been in a mooney before. thanks Rod Quote
pfactor Posted November 17, 2015 Report Posted November 17, 2015 I did my commercial, CFI and CFII check rides in my Mooney with Dick Miller in Caldwell, Idaho. He's a thorough, but fair examiner. I think my commercial exam was about 2 hours of oral and just over 1 hour in the air. Who's the examiner that gives 7 hour PPL check rides? Phil Quote
