Freshly serviced WX-500 Processor (with 8130), new antenna (with 8130), rack, connectors (new), 6ft antenna cable (new)

For curiosity only, why is this unit being sold?

Bought a turbine, was going to upgrade Bravos panel, decided against it. Keeping the Bravo as my personal toy, but it will not be doing any major upgrades, as I don't see it flying any major IFR. Plus it already has the WX-1000E so if don't upgrade to G500, it's nice having the mini EFIS approach display right next to my HSI. Just having a heck of a time justifying blowing thru $80K for a panel upgrade for an airplane that will most likely be a 50 to 75 hour a year toy for hopping out to Denver or Chicago if the weather is nice.

So I'm just getting rid of some gear I had sitting around for the upgrade that I could never time just right before with needing the airplane. Now I just don't see the need for it.

Is this the Series II Stormscope Weather Mapping Sensor?

I have the WX900 and have kicked around the idea of going to the 500 so I can overlay wx on the GTN750.

How's the installation going from 900 to 500, any idea?

Lancaster quotes 25 to 40 hours for install , and yes it is the Series two.......  You may save a few hours because you may not have to map the fuselage for a spot to mount the antenna , as there is already an antenna mounted , also the antennas are physically identical so you will be able to swap them out without any fabricating , you will still have to run the power and data wires , since the processor is usually in the empennage , the antenna cable will be easy......It will display on almost every MFD made in the last 15 years or so....
