Gents:  My Bo is going in for a major avionics overhaul. As such I have two Garmin GNS 430's for sale.  Both are 14/28v:

1). Garmin GNS 430. NON-WAAS with terrain, tray, connectors and antenna.  Has a yellow tag to go along with it. WAS $5,300 - Now $5,000...

2). Garmin GNS 430.  NON-WAAS with tray, connectors, and antenna. Has a form 8130. WAS $5,100 - Now $4,800

Both are in great shape. If you buy both, I'll sell them together for $9,800.

Would like to get these sold...  I'll give it a couple days and then put them on eBay...

Jim -- I think you are probably competing with 430s that have been upgraded to WAAS. There are more and more WAAS 430s showing up on the market from guys upgrading to GTNs. Last I heard it was around $3k to upgrade them (anyone who can confirm)? Do you know the year they were manufactured?

I'm not sure what year they were produced.  They are in perfect condition...  It's right around $3,500 to have Garmin update them...  Contemplated that and then decided to go a different route...

The reason I asked about the age is that I ran into someone who told me Garmin does not support the earliest versions of the GNS series. Something about parts availability of the first revision of these units. If this is true, it might help sell them if you posted some pictures and confirmed their age.

I'm actually in the market for a 430W.  They are going for about $7,000 from dealers and closer to $6,000 from individuals and I'm looking for better than that.  I don't think ~$5,000 makes a lot of sense to me.  Sorry.  I hope you find someone interested in a non-W unit.

David - Thanks!  I've been watching 430/530's for a while...  I can't believe the WAAS 530's are selling for less than the 430W's???  Best I found on a 430W is around $7,500 (that was on ebay and it popped right away)...  If you find one for less, jump on it!

I upgraded my 430 to waas for $3500 last summer and recently bought a 530W for primary GPS. Paid $7750 and it included tray, connectors and a new antenna. I was told Garmin will support the waas units for quite a while but time is running out on non-waas. The price for the upgrade will only continue to rise.

Here is the skinny , if the unit is a 28 volt only , it will cost about 800 more to upgrade , above the 3500 .....They are all being supported , DO NOT buy a unit without a GARMIN tray , the Avidyne tray is not specified on the TSO and not technically legal for install this way.....Garmin no longer makes the trays and they are at a premium......Also even after the upgrade , the 28 volt units are still 28 volt only.....
