Taracka Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Wondering if this hose routing is correct. On this 1966 m20 c If you look at the photo you'll notice the scat hose coming out of the top of the cabin heat box and exhausting below the number 3 cylinder. Thanks for any help. Rich Quote
duke Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 that is correct. when cabin heat is off , hot air is dumped out that hose. It keeps cooling air flowing around muffler. Quote

tsuttles Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Looks right to me but you may want to take a look at your EGT and CHT on C 3 when you are doing your run-up as the spark plug is disconnected I know you know that I was just making a joke..... Quote
Sabremech Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Looks completely different than my 66 C. I'm now curious as to what S/N yours is as I don't have that style of cabin heat box or scat hose routing. Mine is S/N 3308. Interesting. David Quote
flyingvee201 Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 I have the exact same setup, but mine is a 1967 F model. My hose goes almost all the way down to the bottom of the cowling exiting out to the slip stream along with all the other engine heated air. Quote
drbob Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 Rich:       Did this AC have S.B.M20-152A complied with? Cabin heat valve appears to be much newer, M20 parts manual pg.162 fig 64, item #22.  This might explain the newer style heat control valve, fuctions the same just bigger heat dump hose to the lower RH cowl area.                                                                            just some thoughts drbob Quote

Sabremech Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Here's the scat hose configuration on my 66C. Looks like the only difference is the cabin heat box. Is there an S/B for this difference? Quote

David- My 64 is like yours; my former 67 was different and had the 'overflow' hose to duct unused hot air overboard. I have no doubt that one of the salvage yards could sell you the new style, which would be no problem to install if you wanted it. Quote
