Guitarmaster Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 Hey guys. Just did the LED upgrade. Although I have not tried it at night yet, it seems much brighter than the incandescent. As a bonus, my ammeter doesn't even wiggle when I turn it on! Quote
Guitarmaster Posted August 29, 2014 Author Report Posted August 29, 2014 Seems bright. Hard to look at. 1 Quote

Marauder Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 I have one on my F and I love it. Very bright. 1 Quote
carqwik Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 Did you get the regular LED or the Plus version? Quote
fantom Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 I've got four Whelen PAR-36 bulbs in the wings (taxi & landing lights on each side), and if you can't see the runway or taxiway using them, nighttime flying may be exercise you want to re-consider. I leave them on all the time. 1 Quote
Guitarmaster Posted August 29, 2014 Author Report Posted August 29, 2014 I guess the regular. I didn't know there was a plus. Quote
Guitarmaster Posted August 30, 2014 Author Report Posted August 30, 2014 Checked again. It's the super. Quote
JKJacobiSr Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 New Bulb Did this require an STC? Where did you get it and how much? Quote
Guitarmaster Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 No STC. The part is PMA which means that the manufacturer has FAA approval to have their product installed on a certificated airplane. The Mooney is on the PMA list. I got it from Spruce for $265. Quote
Guitarmaster Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 The PMA info comes with the bulb and I just placed it in my aircraft info file. Quote
