I lubed the snot out of mine at install last year for that reason. Plus if you don't lube them, you will snag the oring that seals them anyway. Not an AD yet... It would be silly if it ever became an AD.

Just read it a little while ago. Two foreign incidents of corrosion starting in plating pits. None in the USA per FAA and NTSB. Lycoming says follow their procedures, unless there is too much paint in the way, it won't be a problem. They also referenced proper use of torque wrenches.

 

I'm not worried, and not doing nothing.
