Cool, can't do that in the states any more too dangerous. I remember when I was a kid they had a stripped fighter jet in the play ground at the park where we played. I think it was an F86 but I'm not sure. You could climb all over it. We would cut ourselves on the sharp edges and burn our skin on the hot aluminum in the summer heat. Great fun. I feel sad for all the protected kids these days.

Me too!  There used to be a F86 at our playground when I was a toddler.

Me Too!

Mine was in So. Calif

You could crawl thru front air intake and out the back - They eventually smoothed over the rough edges with concrete - Not the same, but still pretty cool

Las Vegas freedom park also had a F86 when I was kid.  I remember the cockpit was filled cement.  I loved climbing on top of it.  I can't believe all us kids that played on these planes actually survived

I cant believe we survived playing outside period....with all that sun exposure, dirt, disease, dangerous play equipment, god I drank out of the garden hose....like all the time, rode bikes without helmets, elbow pads, knee pad, gloves, played contact sports, ect....its a wonder I am here to type on this....oh yea wait....we were tougher back then.  Kids today are weak and most parents are Hover parents.....Don't get me started on video games.....LOL

Good news....

Brain experts say Video games are good exercise for the brain. They must have been reviewing flight simulators.

Jogging over age 40 is definitely dangerous. Consult with your best Dr. first...

True that but our f86 was on the ground in the sand box and we could climb all through it all over it. I don't remember when they removed it but it was there for lots of great fun when I was a kid.

Maybe the reason for the reported pilot shortage is mommy does not want jr. to go fly in an airplane it’s too dangerous.  I know my own sister would not let my nephew fly with me.

Oh yeah I still drink form the garden hose at the hangar it’s better than dehydration.  :)

I don’t wear a helmet when riding a bicycle ( I do on my motorbike though)

I learned to wear my seatbelt many years ago not because of safety but for better control of the vehicle when maneuvering.
