Took a few picks of my panel. Any input would be appreciated. I guess the guy that owned it before me was blind and loved label makers. Love to find a new/good condition panel cover for my passenger side. It's all cracked and looks bad. I am thinking about putting my Aera 560 in the hole in the middle and put an I pad mini on my yoke. If someone is upgrading and has some older avionics please message me. I hope to work on my instrument rating next year and will be needing some additions to my panel.

I agree.  Doesn't look bad in the pics.  If you're going instrument training, life will be much easier if you can get another set of radios and a glideslope VOR.  Even if you ditch the instrument training, I'd highly recommend Scott's idea of getting a 4 probe engine monitor.

I will look at the tach tomorrow closer....it had better equipment and it was pulled about 10 years ago....thanks for the input and suggestions. I just ordered the Stratus 2 and the yoke mount for the I pad mini. I am looking forward to using my Forflight next week with the instructor. TR

I have a “B” that had the panel redone about ten years before I got the plane.  I’m really happy with it.  I have thought about doing something to the right side but have better things to spend my money on so far.  I’ve been working on my IFR and the layout seems to work well.  Following are some pictures:

Looks great!! I would like to work on my IFR later this summer if time and funds permit. I need to get my wings resealed prob before I can get new equipment.

Wakeup, I would add a COM backup like another NAV/COM or GPS/COM. Leave the 560 on the yoke. Unlike the tablets the 560 has an HSI mode with vertical guidance that is perfect for approaches.

A lot can be done to improve the cosmetics of your panel by just cleaning, painting and removing the ugly labels. I would prefer a light color, I did mine in white but in your case, specially because of the circuit breakers on the right side that are mounted on a black panel perhaps black would look better. I had excellent results for my panel and many interior plastic parts using Fusion in spray can from Krylon. A glare shield will dress it up, in fact I have an original M20C in great shape that I can sell cheap :-)))

I am interested in the glare shield. I go to Roanoke,VA every other weekend hence the reason I got the plane. I will message you later. Thanks

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Anyone putting in new avionics and want to sell old stuff cheap message me. I will be in the market but for right now my first goal is to fly it. :)))

www.airplaneplastics.com sells new plastic covers for your airplane. They are inexpensive and work well. They usually ship within 2 days of order. It will make your panel look great for a few hundred dollars.

Perhaps you meant www.planeplastics.com. If so a set of panel covers including shipping is about $400. I would not consider this "inexpensive" but probably there are not many alternatives other that doing it yourself like in the Mooney I bought where the right side was made in high quality light ply. Once I painted it white it looked pretty good.

I checked it out. I agree...not really inexpensive in my book. My Christmas presents to myself goodies came in the mail today (Stratus 2 and a yoke mount for my I pad mini). I'm going to hopefully put my area 560 in the empty hole in the dash. Going to try it all out tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for the responses. I'm just a little Mooney crazy right now being my first plane. :)
