  1. Do a search for "rocker" - much has been written on this subject.
  2. Sorry my mistake, I meant Dan has a G1000 not Don.
  3. Don has a G1000, but i think the original gauge on the M20M was a Sigmatek with an Alcor probe.
  4. Growing up in Minnesota most snow and ice on lakes in the winter is not all the smooth. I think you would tear off your gear doors. In a Cessna yes I'd do it, in a Mooney no. People took their wheels pants off of their Cessnas in the winter up North landing on runways, let alone lakes.
  5. Numbers sound great. I'd be tempted to try the A002C-30 probe from KS Avionics.
  6. Careful with the POH which said you could go to 1750 TIT. That extra 100 degrees has proven disastrous to probes and exhaust systems.
  7. A writeup with pictures would be great for M20M owners and might just save someone's life.
  8. When was the last time your TIT probe was changed out?
  9. Any computer will download the database - it's the XP with Service Pack 2 or less that transfers the data via the GPS Database Loader program to the card or the unit.
  10. Get an old XP laptop and just use it for the transfer - the only thing that I ever found that worked to update the KLN94.
  11. Many times its one spot that can be re-sealed. David at DuGosh in Kerrville is very good at that. If it's more than that he'll tell you to get them re-sealed. If you decide to have him to look at it, I live up by Kerrville and can give you a ride back to San Marcos. N134JF Airframe Logbook #2 page #32.pdf
  12. $3000 for 6 cylinders? Wow that's great
  13. Just saw this now - I am an hour N of San Antonio if you still want someone to look at it in person.
  14. I had a terrible experience with QAA, next time it will definitely be http://selectaircraft.com/id2.htm
  15. Baggage door?
  16. On the Ovation I had it died twice after landing at real low idle. It never ran smoothly on the ground even though I leaned aggressively. I changed out the Champions for Tempest and all of that was solved. It would run smoothy and had no problems running at low rpm.
  17. Actually it is an option. You may decide not to, but it is an option. The batteries aren't permanently mounted back there. True they are in close quarters back there, but they have to be inspected and serviced at regular intervals and eventually replaced so you or a mechanic is going back there at some point. I have two batteries in the tailcone on my M20M. Every Mooney I've had in the past 23 years I've spent the time to connect the battery minder to the terminals and then fished it out through the oxygen port to plug in. I've zip-tied the long wires so that it doesn't interfere with anything else and I've never had an IA that had a problem with it. I link two batteries together with a 210-AY y-cord so that both of them get charged and desulfated at the same time. It may take a few extra minutes to do, but it's well worth it.
  18. I live at Silver Wings. Almost 30 yrs ago I had a Tiger and used to order things from these guys (Fletchair) when they were based in Houston and now I'm on the same field as they are.
  19. Can we see a picture?
  20. Would you happen to have a picture?
