  1. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.
  2. Thread drift . . . . From El Paso, TX to Beaumont, TX it's 834 miles. From El Paso, TX crossing through New Mexico and Arizona and the width of California, it's 803 miles to Los Angeles. Driving from Los Angeles CA all the way across to Jacksonville, FL over 1/3 of your drive will be in Texas.
  3. The old ones don't owe you anything. They supported as much as 3368 pounds for eight years. The long bodies don't usually get that many years out of them. You'll notice it's a much better ride taxiing.
  4. I had a tank on an M20M patched in November for $1400 at Dugosh in Kerrville. So far no leaks.
  5. Ok, here's a better deal yet. Basically is you have a Garmin 530W you can sell you will be into this for less than $1500 AVIDYNE IFD540 NEW • $9,000 • AVAILABLE FOR SALE • Avidyne IFD540 New with Tray. Warranty 2020. Contact me if you are interested • Contact Andrew James, Owner - located TAMPA, FL USA • Telephone: 8133281055 . • Posted March 22, 2017 • Show all Ads posted by this Advertiser • Recommend This Ad to a Friend • Email Advertiser • Save to Watchlist • Report This Ad
  6. I was in a partnership on a Meridian when they first came out (ours was a 2002 with the Gross Weight Increase). Great airplane, but short on range - less range than the Mirage we had before. Piper has solved that with their newest M600, but high dollar. If someone spends the money to get an STC add fuel for an extra hour range, the prices on used Meridians would come up. With full fuel it would probably be a 2-4 person airplane.
  7. The $329 model is 32gb, wifi only and no built in gps. For $459 you can get it with 4G LTE capability, 32gb and built in GPS. The best deal is the $559 with 128gb and 4G LTE and built in GPS. This configuration a few years ago with a much slower processor was over $900.
  8. Here's an option also: http://www.knots2u.net/mooney201glareshield/
  9. Wow that's great. That just shows that becoming ADS-B compliant is not as big of a deal as many people are making it out to be. Getting a good price on the Appareo and then letting the rebate cover the install costs looks like a good option for a lot of people.
  10. I use the 32's since my engine uses very little oil. The 36's are the hotter plugs.
  11. It will come back from Hector looking much better than new
  12. They do a great job - I've been happy with mine. My only gripe is that the "gases" that come off of the ultraleather mean I need to clean the inside of the windshield more often. I've had it a little over a year and it's getting better.
  13. If Matt's had it for awhile (new surplus) I'm thinking it has wifi and bluetooth - if it is it's a great deal for someone. The pre-buy price for those that waited a few years was around 8500 I believe. All that being said if you can make it work a 540 is well worth the difference in price. I had a 540/440 in an Ovation (I replaced the 530W/430W that was in there) and I have a 540 (soon to be a 550) in my M20M. I like the screen size on the 540 a lot better than the 440, especially now with SVS.
  14. Matt at Central TX Avionics (very good, reputable guy), has a new IFD440 for sale on Barnstormers for $9000. If you sell your 430W outright for $6000 or more you might come out a lot better. AVIDYNE IFD-440 • $9,000 • AVAILABLE FOR SALE • UNIT IS NEW SURPLUS AND INCLUDES THE TRAY AND CONNECTORS. • Contact Matt Gordon - CENTRAL TEXAS AVIONICS, INC., Owner - located Georgetown, TX USA • Telephone: 512-868-8484 . • Posted March 8, 2017 • Show all Ads posted by this Advertiser • Recommend This Ad to a Friend • Email Advertiser • Save to Watchlist • Report This Ad
  15. Hang on! That is the government using common sense? What is this world coming to?
  16. Ok thanks for the clarification.
  17. I buy a lot of things at Costco, but their alkaline batteries are junk. When Costco has a sale on Duracell I stock up.
  18. Wow 1.5 hours for both units was a great price.
  19. Dan I think I would check the current value and drop the hull coverage some. The insurance is only going to pay what the book says its worth. You could probably save about $800 per year without losing any real coverage (what they will pay in a loss)
  20. I based in Bulverde 20+ years ago and I remember a power line to go over on short final. Maybe that's changed.
  21. The stitching looks nice but it looks like a small animal got trapped in there during installation.
  22. I can't imagine why anyone would need to buy the USB drive for $150 when it is so easily downloaded. I downloaded mine at N/C the first day and the largest file was just under 700 MB and now since then they zip the file it takes less time to download. If the shop needs to order the USB drive I wouldn't trust them to know what they are doing. A shop charging you 2-3 hours to download it and install it is reasonable.
  23. Avidyne doesn't charge anything for their download
  24. There's no airplane that hasn't been involved in somewhat of a hard landing. . lol
  25. I'd like to see this as well, pictures would be great. I wouldn't mind spending the money to have Aero Comfort cover my yokes, but I hate the thought of all of those wires having to be de-soldered and then re-soldered. It sounds like a good chance of maintenance induced failure waiting to happen. If there's a way to get it looking good without removing the yoke I'd be interested. However I wouldn't want it to look like the picture below. (This is a Warren Gregoire slip on yoke cover that was for sale on Ebay). It looks like Mooney meets the Michelin Man . . tacky.
