  1. In the realm of airplane parts that is free.
  2. In your Bravo you would have to stay below 18000 if you went that way.
  3. Most K's in that price range have a lot of deferred items needing attention. Assuming there is no airframe corrosion here are four things I always consider when buying an airplane : 1 engine, 2 panel, 3 paint and 4 interior. (If it's a Mooney you also have to consider number 5, Fuel Tanks) If you can find one that has all of these items the way you like it, even if it's more money than you were planning on, you are usually money ahead. Three out of five might still be ok. Most of the time you will be thousands ahead by finding an airplane where the previous owner did the upgrades rather than you.
  4. Two former Mooney Mart people would be enough to scare me away . . lol
  5. In 1986 I lived in Grand Forks, ND and was flying a Cessna 172 into Minneapolis - St. Paul (KMSP) to go see a baseball game. I was told to follow the Boeing 757 turning final. That was only the second 757 I'd ever seen in person. I was probably 3 miles behind it and tried to stay above its' wake but on short final I was all over the place for a few seconds, which seemed like forever - scary. It wasn't too long after that they came out with special guidelines on 757 wake turbulence.
  6. Sure enough http://www.ebay.com/itm/800435-01-OXYGEN-O2-PSI-PRESSURE-GAUGE-MOONEY-M20K-231-AIRCRAFT-/271904181220?hash=item3f4ec08be4:g:O1wAAOSwv0tVgKwL&vxp=mtr Buying this will ensure that your now missing part will show up.
  7. I don't think the IFD440 is an approved WAAS position source for the KT74, but maybe you have another solution for ADS-B out.
  8. Street price on the 4 cylinder is just over $3000 plus installation.
  9. I bet if you removed the cotter pin and the castle nut the rest would come out and clean up nicely. Here's a good source for the longest lasting O-rings for these fuel caps : https://www.beechtalk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=130666
  10. I checked with emagair back in December and it looks like it will be quite awhile. emag air.pdf
  11. That thing has one too many engines
  12. Electroair doesn't do one for Lycoming 6 cylinder Turbos though.
  13. True except if your lawn mower gets hit by lightning it doesn't need to find a place to land without it's engine running . . .lol I hope too that a reliable electronic ignition can be developed for Turbo Charged engines and that we can at least be brought into the last quarter of the 20th Century.
  14. Fiberglass sounds more like it.
  15. You learn something every day
  16. I sell the cheaper (Non STC) version which beats the GE incandescent to pieces for $60 each including shipping for the taxi or landing light. They are amazing for the price. But I would be happy to pass on my discount if you want the others.
  17. I doubt they use Royalite on the exterior of the Mooney, ABS maybe
  18. Even if you are on VFR Flight Following they assign you a squawk code.
  19. One of each is correct if you are using the Whelen Parmetheus Plus. Having used both if you are going to spend over $200 my preference is the Teledyne Alphabeam - more useful light. I have a business account with Aircraft Spruce and can get 10% off of the Whelen and 14.5% off of the Teledyne lights. PM me if I can help.
  20. Since most of their employees have been there for years I'm sure they are compensated fairly or they would have left. There's a huge difference in thinking to work for someone else or to own a business. Many people want to punch a clock, collect a paycheck and not have the responsibility. The fact that they would offer the opportunity to the employees first before selling it to someone else says a lot.
  21. The access should be from below after removing the belly panels.
  22. The TKS tanks are under the rear seat behind the pilot and the pumps are under the rear seat behind the co-pilot. The filter is aft of the pumps shown in the red circle. The filter is number 40 in the exploded diagram below. It uses a filter element inside of the sealed filter assembly.
  23. If the transponder is over on the right side of the panel and ATC asks you to ident you don't need to take your eyes off of your scan in IFR.
  24. These may help (it may be part 15, part number 640001-041) : Since the Ovation is still in production it shouldn't be any problem to get the parts from Mooney through LASAR or Dugosh or any MSC. You could also check with Guy Ginby - he makes aftermarket scat tubes for airplanes that are superior quality than the OEM parts.
