  1. I agree 100%. I maintain a 24 year old Mooney for as inexpensively as anyone on here, without compromising safety.

You're right - it would be a much better place if there was no Mooney factory. People are much more apt to buy your airplane when you go to sell it when the parent company doesn't exist any longer. How could I have missed that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. You're doing better than me. I have never been able to get any of the maps to show up.
  5. You missed the point. Even though you never have and never will buy a part from the Mooney factory, the fact that they produce parts eases demand of used parts which you will at some point buy.
  6. Actually you do to some extent. Some people now buy new parts from the factory. If there was no factory then everybody would be depending on used parts which would make them more scarce and drive up the price.
  7. Hopefully you went with a Concorde battery.
  8. Don, I'll rent you my cat for your hangar.
  9. If you can rearrange something on the panel, the connectors are the same for the 430 as on the IFD540. All you need is a little more room to fit it in. Well worth the difference in price between 440 and 540. 10. Foolishly back in 2009 I left cheese and crackers in my flight bag on the front seat of a M20M I owned, which I kept in a hangar at Stinson in San Antonio. Not only did the rodent eat the cheese and crackers but some of my front seat upholstery as well. Thankfully an upholstery shop used the leather on the map pocket in the back to splice in a square on the seat and make it unnoticeable.
  11. SVS tab only shows up when you select MAP and you only get SVS when you have a good GPS signal.
  12. The update does not come with a database. Updating Nav, Charts, etc is separate from the 10.2 update. Go to the AUX button and then SYS and verify that it says 10.2
  13. I always remind passengers of two rules when we are 1000 ft or less agl after take-off or before landing: 1) Silence is Golden. 2) Duct Tape is Silver.
  14. The Fredericksburg Airport Diner is a good stop.
  15. The Concorde is not heavier. Gill's stated weight is empty, by the time you add the acid it's the same weight as the Concorde.
  16. Here's a good reason to keep it inside:
  17. This is probably a good reason to keep it hangared:
  18. Aerox is what Aircraft Spruce sells also, so its PMA
  19. Have you tried the Tapatalk app for iOS rather than the Crayola app . . lol?
  20. And the remote transponder they are including (AXP322) will free up panel space for the IFD540 (or 550) so you have a larger screen.
  21. I use an app called Genius Scan on my iphone. You can add pages to the pdf later on.
  22. You'll also need a boss fitting.
  23. This is the one if you have a 115 cu. ft. system. I can get you the 5% off if I have them drop ship it to you. No shipping charge and no tax.
