  1. kann mich einfach nicht konzentrieren
  2. Sarcasm on ..... seems reasonable to me - the faster the rpm the quicker I get oil to my critical engine parts ...... sarcasm off
  3. I used to make mechanical speedo / tac cables - the cable end gets squared off with a crimper - special die. It's very possible the fitting that the cable slides into has been rounded over time. A reputable speedo shop should be able to help you out. If the cable had any rust when you pulled it out of the housing consider buying a new assembly.
  4. One addition to the above - Don't lay your old window on the new to use the holes in the old as a pattern. It won't work. Not impossible to do alone but a helper makes it so much easier........ Put the new window in the plane - mark a hole, drill it, install it back in the plane with one screw as an anchor - mark the next and drill - lather rinse repeat until you get the window secure enough to mark all the remaining holes. PS - if your wondering if the thicker windows are worth it - yes, yes they are. PPS - go with the gray - you won't be disappointed.
  5. I have a 67 and had an avionic cooling fan installed - The original design does not route air directly into the ports on the newer radios - it's basically a flat panel with slots to direct air across the stack (item 28)
  6. love this
  7. Cool - will that hook to foreflight?
  8. Check with @McMooney I believe he had an inop clock that is now operating after a bit of tlc
  9. Took my Granddaughter up for the first time day after Thanksgiving
  10. Bring yer checkbook down to M7 - you and I can get a list o stuff together - I love to spend other peoples cash.......
  11. I was referring to normal operating ... the OP was specific in the "bumpy" conditions. If the desire is all out speed that would put the plane in the yellow arc. Vno - Maximum Structural Cruise Speed - When cruising at, and below, Vno the aircraft should not be damaged by a 30 feet/second vertical gust. It is indicated by the top end of the Airspeed Indicator's Green Arc. Smooth air only for speeds in the Yellow Arc.
  12. I see one gotcha in your requirements - you want to minimize time spent in choppy air, to do so you want to fly at max speed the plane can offer, call me chicken but methinks VNO should be a consideration, especially if your remotely considering an experimental.
  13. I get an occasional shimmy - gear is tight and a short dance on the rudder pedals eliminate it on rollout.
  14. Step drill bits are a good alternative to special plexy drill bits
  15. And when you do get flash burn - (best described as someone grinding a handful of sand directly on your cornea) The best relief I've ever found (this from an old Millwright) is to slice a thin layer of potato and apply it directly on the eyeball.
  16. Have you recently started to use camguard? Changed oils? maybe put some non aviation oil in? typically additives or contamination add sodium
  17. Been there - BTW noticed your tail number - I've got the littermate - serial number and N number both a difference of 4
  18. Or as I was told - full out - fly it like ya stole it. full power, full rich, 2600 rpm nothing over 2500 agl - never had so much fun. I go 20 hours and add half a quart.
  19. Sounds like a final fitment trim should fulfill the requirements?
  20. That clearance should be good - The material is 1/4" wall square tube, I measured from the ground to the jack point (mine was 24" prior to new donuts. Used them for my annual and the donut replacement, no issues with instability - in fact the A&P was duly impressed.
  21. Make sure you just snug them up - as was said to tight may crack the window and then you will learn the "joy" of replacement that includes hours of sealant scraping
  22. FOUND IT!!!!! nothing to do with the annual everything to do with the reman heads @ 30 hours since top end. 1 I did have a “diesel” effect when shutting down 2 my manifold pressure was High at idle 3 the old plugs were burning leaner than the rest = intake leak but you won’t believe the cause (found it whilst replacing plugs while troubleshooting ) it must have been loose for a while and finally fell out.
  23. I can speak to the time. 4 to 6 hours
  24. Actually I did soak number one in mek
