Hmmm. Just out of annual - the screen on the electric fuel pump is upstream. Maybe a piece of something got introduced there.
-
Up in the pattern coming in for landing. Reduced to idle egt on number 1 dropped to almost nothing noticeable Roughness. Pulled to the hangar and ran it up to 1500 everything evened out. Back to idle same thing egt dropped and rough run pulled and checked plugs - swapped number and number three plugs to see if the issue followed - no change checked injectors - completely clean flow tested the fuel divider. All even levels checked intake tube on number one. Looks good - fuel pressure - 30 psi fuel flow about 1 gph at 700 3.5 at 1500 Just had my annual, compressions were 79 across the board @600 hours on the engine, 40 since top end fuel pump?

@LANCECASPER helped out the cause.... got a little bit of a discount. Unfortunately both radios are acting up so I haven't had a chance to try em out yet but I suspect some of the clunking and noise during taxi will be reduced - as for the landings I probably won't notice much - ya can't improve perfection..... bwahaahhahahahha Actually waiting for a help in that area as well.

Used the stands for the annual, and as suggested I was cautious at first checking the stability. My mechanic said they were as solid as any. No issues getting in or out of the plane while swinging gear.
-
So my mechanic and I replaced my shock disks, pictures of old vs new on the bench shows about a quarter inch difference in height but that's not the real story. Under load, the old vs new stack difference was three quarters of an inch. All in all four hours well spent.

One other thing to consider - if you still have a prop with the 100 hour AD - you might consider having the update that puts a red dye oil in - it eliminates the AD.

I know the topic has been beat to death - but..... being a member of the CBC and the way prices change...... Looking for the least expensive source for two sets for my main gear, can anyone beat 106 ea? Thanks!

From what I've seen most of the t hangars are uphill - If the rain keeps at the current rate we should be good. -

I drove to Hooks about 2 hours ago - from the looks of it the runways were covered, the T hangars probably had about 8" of water - my hangar M7 had some wet spots but more dry than wet. The rain stopped while I was there and the water seemed to be receding - parking lot in front of Gill was level with the lake, but I didn't have my rod with me to try for any bass.... -
Anyone know what's up with Vortek aviation at KDWH? Been trying to get hold of them for about a week now.

Welcome to Mooney's Two types of Mooney drivers 1. Those who have bounced 2. Those who will bounce I'd venture that the percentages highly favor #1 Always remember the four C's Cram (firewall everything) Climb Clean (flaps, gear) Communicate Signed a number 1'er

@Bob_Belville If I were to extend a jack to the full length that those are capable of (40") I would agree with the need for a wider base. The max lift needed for my (our) birds is 30" which will give 5" of tire to ground clearance. I don't expect leverage against the stand at that height, but will definitely heed your caution at first use Thanks!
-
There is a latch in the front with 5 positions that click in. The pin is to make adjustments to the length of the jack

Working on vehicles I've always used safety stands, and have worried when using the standard long ram jacks. So I set out to make my own jacks that meet my needs.

And when they do strip out (which you can count on) don't forget your left hand drill bit and extractor set http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ontel-Speed-Out-Speed-Out-Titanium-Screw-Extractor-4-Piece-1000367/207096485 Most time the left hand bit will back the screws out but when they don't the extractor will
