  1. Are you seeing the coax for the nav antennae? This would be black and a 1/4" thick.
  2. See the Amsafe News discussion currently going on.
  3. I flew a friend in my Mooney to drop it off, and we picked up a 172 and brought it home. 15 minutes in the Mooney, 35 minutes in the 172.
  4. I crashed a Jeep Wrangler 3 months ago. I hit 2 Oak trees, badly damaged one. I am estimating that I went from 50 to 0 in about 3 feet. Had my belts with shoulder harnesses on me, air bag went off. I am convinced that they saved my life. Popped the air bag, hit my head on the steering wheel, 5 fractured ribs, fractured nose, cut on the side of my head. Steering wheel was bent. But I am still here, I think that these belts would be a good idea also.
  5. I did my instrument in my 69F. Autopilot was not used. You need a good instructor, one that knows your radios. I had recently installed my 430W and knew almost as much about it as the instructor, I had the wrong instructor. ILS, Loc and vor approaches worked out well, I was familiar with that equipment, the GPS though, not to well, I eventually learned it. Flying IFR is all mental, it takes time to become proficient mentally, especially after work and home. You can do it.
  6. What is the maintenance aspects with the wood wing and tail. Who can really safely inspect and repair these?
  7. Has your C been reweighed? Seems heavy according to the discussion above. Should be 40 to 60 lbs lighter than my F. My is 1696#'s. this is a continual calculation weight.
  8. I hope for many pilots, that a good buyer is found. It looks like a possible investment for some enterprising young or semi retired person.
  9. I had lasar install 1 in my 69F with a Dukes landing gear motor. Ron
  10. Is it possible to get the old tank recertified?
  11. I have 500 hours in a 310G model, IO470's with 260 horse engines. I planned on 185 knts at about 10,000 ft and 25 gph. very consistent for me. Works out to about double fuel on long cross country, 40 knts. and saves about 20% of the time for me. And then the maintenance, other expenses. Ron
  12. I was in one for a sales demonstration flight, the Owner in the right seat put the gear down, I ran a gumps check on short final, the gear was down and not locked, I hit the lever hard and heard it click in, and verified with the lights. Yes you can gear one in with the lever down. Also ask Jolie about hers, popped out of the lock on the taxi way, She was lucky and caught it.
  13. I live in CA, for now. Taxes are a major subject with many of us. You add the taxes up, cost of living, government regulations and personal safety/crime and many want to leave. the weather is fantastic though. Taxes are 9% and some counties more. Taxes, Fees and Fines, the CA way. I am selling out and moving, hope to be gone soon. Moving closer to the kids, grandkids. Ron
  14. Shadrich, I am sorry and goofed, many apologies. Also electric vs manual gear. Has Mooney built more electric gear planes or manual? Why are all 1969 and newer electric?
  15. That makes a real good useable weight. but with your girls?
  16. The empty weight on mu 69F, with electric gear and flaps, still has the vacuum system etc. is 1697. 1043 useful load. I doubt that there is much difference with manual gear and hydraulic flaps. Ron
  17. I am the owner of the 69F. It is still available, $78,0000.00. I flew the plane for almost 2 hours today, had a blast. I have several interested For additional information see: https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/23430425/1969-mooney-m20f-exec-21 please contact me at N9154V@aol.com or 559 577-2398. Ron
  18. ASO.com Aviation Shopper.com Sometimes on Facebook. All 69's and newer are electric gear. Electric gear is simpler if you are making an IFR departure, and definitely easier if you are becoming more vintage. Mine has had new gears installed several years ago. If interested inquire. Ron
  19. USAIG, $90000.00 Hull, 1,000,000 smooth. $1515.00 Ron
  20. Long hoses. Would it make sense to do oil cooler relaxation? Same cooler shorter hoses. Ron
  21. A 231 is a 6 cylinder, although it is still 360 cubic inch.
  22. Altimeter looks like 1100 ft to me. Ron
  23. Thanks, Now to find a buyer for it, He will need to appreciate the improvements. This is a higher priced F, but has so many improvements. The cost of the improvements is greater then the sale price. I am only selling so that I can retire. Can't keep the plane and retire, I have been thru the numbers many times.
  24. I have a 69F for Sale. Talked to Jimmy at All American, He said approx. $78,500.00. Please see pictures and spec sheet attached. Ron 559-577-2398. Located central CA. N803RM.pdf
