  1. This is my experience, with front passengers and no baggage, I def trend toward the forward CG. I've started carrying extra tools and such in the baggage compartment just to push the cg back.
  2. Awesome trip, but slow, there is always a headwind. Note about Pecos, there is Hell and then there is PECOS. place was so hot my tires melted to the pavement while i was rolling out. seriously, i landed about 4 and said the hell with it, waited till the sun went down before i took off for Phoenix. Oxygen, good call. even if not required, it'll keep you fresher. Be prepared, there are long sections where there will be NO communications, either you wont be high enough or more likely, there's just no one out near you.
  3. Tampa area, best place in Florida. Best Beaches in the US. Seriously, not kidding BEST Beaches. Traffic isn't (California)horrible, Hurricanes were manageable. Reasonable distance from all Florida has to offer and rarely cold.
  4. Can't wait for MSFS 2020 it's gorgeous. My new rig is just waiting availability of the Intel-10900k in a Mooney owners price range
  5. Reminds me, anyone have a spare servo ?
  6. sounds like a leak in a servo, same symptoms as mine.
  7. Replace the cdi with a g5, has gpss built in. gpss by itself unless purchased from Ebay is pretty expensive
  8. WHEN my nav flite II works, it tracks everything like it's on rails ;right down the middle of the runway for both green and magenta lines. that being said, I lost a servo this weekend, anyone have a good bi-706 2983-3 servo?
  9. Fly garmin worked just fine for me today. updated 2 tablets a phone and my gdl39. Connect remains down, which is really pissing off the wife. seriously, i never knew how much she liked that app. Garmin, if you know what's good, you'll prioritize Connect.
  10. I don't bother to use the flaps on takeoff, figure a few extra feet of runway vs worrying about flaps while taking off is a fair trade.
  11. Just do it, had mine for a year now and will never go back. starts hot, starts cold, runs like a clock
  12. hehe you can send it to me, ac on the ground here in Texas would be AMAZING
  13. buy a garmin 255a and be done with it
  14. Buy a bottle with a cga 540 fitting then just get a 540 regulator. won't need an explanation when you go to the oxygen supply house
  15. tools -- 1 inch wrench for oil filter, set of normal wrenches, many different screwdrivers, drills etc. aircraft screws/bolts at such. buckets for oil. tables, def need some sort of table. home depot shelving, and big storage bins. then to the essentials. fridge, grill, beer, 60 inch flatscreen 8) and internet.
  16. tru-trak, garmin or dynon, whichever is first get's my money; dont' really care at this point. wish i hadn't been a jerk to the Trio guy
  17. i'd love a DA50 or a DA62, just wish i had a clue as to how to get $1+million to spend on a plane
  18. Man, i feel really bad, i have both a gdl-39 3d and a stratus 2 in the plane.
  19. Def thinking bout upgrading it myself now
  20. Next hangar day, that steps coming off and going into the never to be used again pile. only reason i put it back on the plane was due to my CFII being somewhat elderly. It def makes about a 2kt difference
  21. GRRR making me want a 231 or 252 now
