  1. No, @ragedracer1977 is right. Sweden is the "odd duck" with no forced rules about staying at home, etc. But from what I know about Swedes and what I heard from up north, they are just self distancing in a sensible way, without "the government" setting specific rules, just because they were asked to. I applaud them for it, and they should rightly get credit for what they accomplished within their society. Having written that, I don't agree with the "either or" above. I just don't believe the average bunch of Polish, UK or US people would be disciplined enough to behave as responsibly as the Swedes. Maybe the Swiss... No offense meant, and I do apologize for generalizing, I know assuming makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me".
  2. Lots and lots of "thank you"s to all of you for this aviation gem in these challenging times.
  3. With all due respect, I'd say "preemptive" not "premature". Compare the numbers for Italy (or Spain, or the UK, since Italy was a 'first adopter' and is entitled to its share of figuring things out) and Germany for example - and think of them as Florida and Illinois perhaps. Also, as far as the medical equipment - a doctor pilot friend from Germany said they are cautiously optimistic - the increase in the number of patients has slowed down, they have, on average, 75% of intensive care unit beds (each with ventilator) empty. They also have about 5 weeks of protective equipment on hand. I dislike having to stay put as much as the next guy (or gal), especially with the weather we're having, but sometimes you got to take one for the team. Team Humans this time around.
  4. That will make for one amazing Christmas decoration... He's just so ahead of the game...
  5. My initial reaction was similar (this post came in as I was searching around for "household cleaners safe to use on airplanes"), but the Safety Data Sheet for the cleaner claims: Not corrosive to SAE 1020 Steel or non-clad Aluminum based on test data (UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, Section 37.1 -Corrosion to metals).
  6. You could also try to become friends with @Denver98...
  7. BT is indeed BeechTalk. In the Peddler Talk section for Avionics. But you can also reach out to the other Aspen dealers that frequent MooneySpace like @Baker Avionics and Chase from Avionics Source shows up around here as well.
  8. It's because of the virus </s>
  9. Is this true for both types of pressure controllers, or just the smarter VAPC? The stock TSIO-360GB/LB engines have a static APC, the variable one comes with the MB/SB versions, correct? But even with the static APC the turbo works less down low, because there is less of a pressure delta to overcome and the air is denser, correct? Thank you for the very detailed post. I would much rather read a longer post like yours, than a one-liner reference to a PM. So looking forward to your presentation at the Summit.
  10. Totally off topic, but a willing mentor is worth installing a video call app of their choice - there are so many...

  12. In the EU 100LL is anywhere between $2 and $2.50 per liter, which is roughly $8 per gallon. And availability is reportedly decreasing, especially the further south one goes. JetA1 is roughly half that. And no, prices haven't gone down. Car gas did get cheaper.
  13. Can you please share the details / photo of other side? It probably won't beat @gsxrpilot's version for simplicity, but looks interesting nevertheless. TIA!
  14. FWIW, I use VLC (VideoLAN) both on tablet and laptop (Ubuntu, but also available for Windows). Not sure about i-devices (Apple). If possible, I'd like to resume the main subject - can those with experience tell the rest of us what to look at on the most representative valve pictures? I know it is all in the EAA article, but specific examples are priceless.
  15. Yet you risked your life on the way to the post office... ;-) But on a more serious note, the monetary value is often secondary to being a nice human being... So - thank you!
  16. Well, two dogs on a single flight could turn into a dog fight, I guess... ;-) Especially if the flight went into dog fight mode with another flight.
  17. Often the Vividia Ablescope VA-400 is mentioned. If you buy via Amazon, remember to include the Amazon Smile donation to the Mooney Foundation. But do wait for kmyfms20s to share which camera was used before buying.
  18. Will increasing airspeed in the climb silence the buzzer? IOW, is the alarm perhaps triggered not by throttle position, but by airspeed (which might be read wrong, triggering the false alarm)? If you don't have airspeed sensing, then the squat switch that detects weight on the wheels serves the same function, check that.
  19. If he doesn't know you PMed him, he doesn't deserve the honor... </s>
  20. Well, the Specifications section on the page for the bulbs says they are NOT polarity sensitive, so I guess they auto-adjust to whatever is fed to them. But a good call!
  21. Guess better them than Garmin, or, for that matter, King...
  22. There is a relatively new potential issue with the 210 spars, make sure to take that into account in the search. Look for FAA-2020-0156 for more info.
  23. The G5 will only provide the HSI (heading) part for the usual APs in the M20K, they will not provide attitude; you need a GI275 or G500 for that. I believe the E5 will emulate the KI256 attitude source, as well as heading, although it will likely require the EA100.
  24. If he's flying low enough he just might ;-)
  25. Yes, heard good things about the Honeycomb yoke. Cannot say many good things about the Logitech / Saitek yoke, except that I have it and it's better than not having one. But I'd look for something else next time around.
