  1. You had me at beef. I'd be in but it's 400nm and the logistics of 4 hours round trip and getting home around afternoon storms make it a little too hard for me.
  2. That's too bad, wingx has embraced the stratux and helped make it work while foreflight has done everything they can to keep people from using it with their product.
  3. Dunno. The wear of the rings on the walls might be less or might be more. I'm sure some folks will be by shortly to argue about it. Either way, that sucks for the threadstarter.
  4. The Chinese knockoff yi cams are pretty good for the money. I have several.
  5. I prefer wingx to foreflight. The Android version isn't as good as the apple unless they've improved it, so I run it on an overpriced iPad. Wingx gives me a free sub for being a cfi, but before they introduced that program I paid for it. I have tried to like foreflight and just can't.
  6. If nickel works for cylinder walls you'd think it would work for cams too. Guess not or they'd be doing it already.
  7. The descend via clearance implies you will comply with speed and altitude restrictions as published unless it is amended by the issuing controller. Ie. Descend via the argument1 except speed 280 knots until stfuu
  8. You're talking to a man that thinks rainx is acceptable ice prevention. Just saying.
  9. Sometimes the center controllers pick them.
  10. There are still quite a few. And a lot of config and rapid lower setting changes, especially in the stalls. Aot of low and slow ground reference work as well.ess of an issue in a rocket, more of an issue in a Mooney with worse cooling.
  11. Still a lot of landings and the resulting takeoffs.
  12. Well, one shop was bevan rebille in Wichita and the other was autopilots Central in Tulsa. So I take their word on it. Yours is also probably considering the panel is apart for the upgrade. We already have 2 Aspen screens installed.
  13. It's just the touch and goes and power changes.
  14. I'm not crazy about the idea of someone doing the comm. maneuvers in a turbo, well, my turbo anyway. It's a bit hard on the engine. It's cheaper to pay to use the flight schools beater arrow anyway.
  15. we had a worn out linkage, it was expensive, like $300 but it's been fine since. Looks like a pretty intricate system, I'm sure no two cases are the same.
  16. weird, no more dc4 then eh? CAUTION: Do not apply lubricant or sealing compound to the new replacement filter gasket. Applying any lubricant or sealing compound to the replacement filter (see Table 1) may adversely affect the gasket’s anti-stick properties.
  17. The ki300 costs less than installing the Aspen autopilot interface if the current pricing holds at 4300 or whatever it is. I have been quoted over 5k to add the ea100
  18. Rocket doesn't do piston conversions anymore.
  19. Above 200 mph not a lot. Above about 200 kts tas, a lot. At least on the k platform.
  20. If you make it to Colorado I'll take you up
  21. Honestly if it is under 5k and talks to our kap150 it's worth it.
  22. Like everything in aviation mh kind of rips people off. Their o2 masks are just a respirator they have changed a couple of the plugs on and charged 250 bucks for about 45 bucks in parts. It's frustrating but unless you have a source for the parts what can you do?
  23. You'll love it. We left home with 1500psi on a 74cu ft tank and flew to Cali, or, ut, and back and used like 500psi for 2 people.
  24. here go https://mooneyspace.com/topic/14636-fuel-tank-sealant-removal-machine/
