  1. You can't fly the pattern with the gear down and prop at high rpm? News to me.
  2. Yes, believe it or not sometimes when they miss your call it's because they're actually busy doing something. Shocking I know.
  3. And you're saying things happen faster in airplane a at 90 knots than in airplane b at 90 knots? You must have some special ability to bend space time.
  4. Most are completely unaware of what a Mooney is or looks like aside from the pilots have a horrible reputation for poor radio comms. So.... No there is no saying. Not to mention the vast majority of mooneys just...aren't...that fast. Sorry, 180kts doesn't catch anyone's attention.
  5. Not really. Even the rocket will happily fly around at 110kts at 22" Bonanzas are the happiest of the ones I've flown at all speeds.
  6. The thing about airplanes is they only go as fast as the throttle.
  7. The Cirrus is much, much less workload than the rocket. I think it's fine for a newish pilot. It's a plane that wants to automate everything for you.
  8. Long way from tx that's for sure. Might be nice to get out of the heat though!
  9. It's in Idaho just next is to Jackson. Much cheaper, ramp fees at kjac are exorbitant
  10. Hey Jimmy! Skipthe hole and go to driggs if you can get space. I put my eggs in the McCall ID basket. They're not taking reservations so I'm a bit worried.
  11. At Casper? It's an up down tower with approach control. And there will be notams. There are procedures in effect.
  12. Would a jump plug and a deep cycle battery do it?
  13. That'll sell quick.
  14. Expect it to be really dark. They'll probably do a q&a and then farm you out to the floor to plug in and observe.
  15. Depending on the budget and mission a small portable tank and something like a pulse demand system, o2d2 or the precise flight version would be great and last quite awhile. You could probably get a portable bottle to give you as many hours as that 115cu ft tank would without pulse demand. Unfortunately, none of it is cheap.
  16. I haven't measured but I'd guess that 115cu ft tank is 3.5 feet long just guessing from looking in the back. Kind of bulky. Probably also lacks a manual valve.
  17. The way the one wheel works is with a tilt sensor. You tilt forward and the motor runs faster. You tilt back and it slows down. Not conducive to tug duty. Also geared for high speed, not low end torque.
  18. man I used to love that show. the one where he flew a 414 to europe was really cool.
  19. Lady at work has one. She's 55. No wouldn't work as a tug. I rode it, poorly about 3 feet. Also they cost as much as a tug.
  20. Those open skies flights are very high priority.
  21. No, part of me hopes it passes because voters deserve what they voted for.
  22. But but but smaller government though. It has 0 percent chance of passing, but I have to be honest, part of me hope it does.
  23. They can do it easily. I had one made to fit my headset at work and and all they had to do was match up the tube size. I think I paid about 80 dollars for one though.
  24. Weird. Good catch. Glad the stratux is working.
  25. I might be interested in them
