  1. You should not have been assigned the arrival. In fact the system shouldn't have even let them put it in your flight plan, wrong type, don't meet the performance based nav requirements....
  2. I could swear I saw a write up around here where someone did it step by step, it looked like a hassle but manageable. I'll see if I can find it.

Bozeman isn't all that high and sits in a huge valley (Gallatin) your standard winter hazards are going to apply, plus that cut in the terrain you planned through at Livingston funnels the wind, it's very windy there in the winter. Otherwise there's very little terrain to worry about, you can follow the interstate.

  14. so... apparently the box the avidyne tech suggested to replace our WSI doesn't work with the IFD running software 10.2. Cool.
  15. there's a dude on the vans forum that swaps out the terrain cards with current data for like $50 or something if you don't have the right loader, I got one from him a bit ago and he's a stand up dude. In case you weren't aware I think the terrain loader is different from the normal navdata loader.

  21. There are some YouTube videos that demonstrate it. Basically it thumps the ice off. I don't really have the patience to listen to lectures and pursue the stc, so I don't see this going anywhere. People can go back to arguing the merits of spraying WD-40 on their wings or whatever other hairbrained theories get passed around here.
