  1. the website, though it specifies for the 172, we could be more
  2. All in one, working together. Beautiful thing.
  3. I hear a lot of everyone else should do this for the pilot and not a lot of hey let's not out airplanes in avoidable dangerous situations in here.
  4. Just got an email that dynon is getting a bunch more stuff certified http://www.dynonavionics.com/certified/
  5. So the controller was supposed to know he was going to fly into ice and move traffic so he could have higher just when he asked for it? Right.
  6. Crossing traffic at 180? Military atcaa active from 180? There are hundreds of potential reasons. Just because you got into ice doesn't mean the controller can suddenly break any rules. What's what declaring an emergency is for.
  7. I have a pingefb on our stratux and the reception is much better than the low power sdrs. I didn't think it would be worth the extra money but it was.
  8. The other "name brand" piezoelectric system emeds is used on certified airplanes. http://www.coxandco.com/products/low_power_ice_protection_systems.htm Honda jet, premier, hawker and a Boeing. You would think given the potentially low cost the experimental crowd would be all over it.
  9. http://icesight.com/electric-pulse-ice-protection-system.php There are a few different but similar systems, that one, emeds, that all work about the same. Why don't you ever hear of any development for ga on it?
  10. It has been suggested that it's a certification issue and not a hardware issue.
  11. It's a beauty of a plane. Should make someone really happy.
  12. the noise it makes. worse than nails on a chalkboard.
  13. you'd think the guy filming would notice there's no wheel out when he pans to the side.
  14. one of my favorite videos of how it can happen. you can hear it chiming the whole way (or it's been added after the fact) and they just keep chit chatting away
  15. also the fact that I can't get to flap speed with the bottom spoilers stowed
  16. a lot of GPS systems have a 500 foot warning. It would be nice to add check gear in there too, though people might ignore that also. You would think that it would be very easy to feed in a gear down lead to the GPS and if the signal isn't there at 500 feet it alerts you to put the gear out.
  17. some, I don't think all. The later models like late 90's or early 2k's I don't remember having it.
  18. Looks like Don Muncy's design, more or less. I started off with that and redid it to copy the powertow, more or less. Your cable and lock system are well designed. my only beef is the lack of traction with the narrow tire. I couldn't find a wider driven wheel.
  19. We have a powertow 40 gas, works good. I have an electric one I built but it'd be tough to get to tx, too big to fit in a Mooney. I'd kind of like it out of the hangar.
  20. Well, I'll get the p/n and if they're fine wires maybe just leave them be
  21. Fairly sure ours are fine wire. I don't think anyone would put massives in a turbo but you never know. I'll know for sure when I clean them. I'll stick to twoce a year, once at annual and once mid way I guess.
  22. Title says it all. We've been waiting until about 75 to 100, that might be too much.
  23. Gotta work or I'd do it with you. Sorry. I could have done it yesterday and today :/ If I had the extra sick leave to burn I'd be all over it. I'll ask my partner, also a cfi, if he's interested.
  24. all very strange indeed.
  25. the hell he hit?
