    55 year old wiring is rather fragile, might have to start at the light and work backwards, checking any connectors until you get to the up contact switch.

    Yes, you’ll need a new AW (Form 8100), and you’ll need to return the old one to FAA. Your FSDO can send it to you electronically, I would contact them if you don’t get one in the next couple of weeks.

    You may have to skip the G3X/GFC500 and go to G500TXi/GFC600 as they are approved for higher powered airplanes.

    Didn’t it require cowling changes and 100s of hours to do installation? The equipment costs are only half of the price.

    I assume it must leak oil/fuel like a sieve if it needs all that straw.

    I would start pulling circuit breakers until it stops, then you’ll have the source.

    Notify Avidyne, if someone tries to update the databases they’ll prevent it and let you know. Essentially the box is useless to whoever buys it. I believe Garmin does this.

    G5 doesn’t replace the A/S indicator.

    In my experience, batteries fail unexpectedly after 5-6 years. My starter failed after ~500 starts. Vacuum pump failed ~700 hours.

    Shorting your fuel stops means making more of them. Refilling isn’t that enjoyable to me to want to do it more often.
