Will be making it to OSH Friday and Saturday. I know the official meetings will be over, but will anyone still be there? Anything going on later in the week? Would love to put some faces to the names.

There are many posters here I would like to meet in person... might be difficult since we will be spreaded around, arrive on different days. Would be nice if the Mooney space posters would all wear a hat with the logo on it... maybe another year we could do this? One easy thing to do might be for site members to put their aircraft Tail number in their profile so that we could each make a list of the people we want to see.... however I think the best judge of who we see and shall see is destiny!

We will also be there the second weekend, Thursday through Monday (around Aug 1).  I know most of the mass arrivals come earlier in the week, but there's still fun to be had in the air show.  We should have a second-weekend gathering at Friar Tucks or something.

Suggestion:

(1) Find Jolie.

(2) get some ambassador garb

(3) look for others doing the same

(4) MAPA used to be the center point for activities

Just making a suggestion.

Unfortunately, I am unable to attend.

Best regards,

Wish I could be there this year, but I'll be up in CT.

Friar Tuck is within walking distance if you sneak under the fence, has good food and better prices, but is nothing out of the ordinary. For something special, my tip of the month is this historical marker, and step back in history. Great food served by kids on roller skates at very reasonable prices. About a three mile beautiful drive along the lake, and well worth it.

For anyone flying in the Caravan, we have nifty permanent nametags that are magnetized and can be worn on your hat or shirt.  I wear mine all Airventure as I've found it a great way to meet others interested in Mooneys.  I also find wearing previous years' Caravan shirts helpful as well for the same reason.  As of last year, every Caravan registrant also gets a cap.

So if you like Mooney swag, it's one more reason to join the Caravan!

Finally, this year is the first year that the Caravan will have our own tent in the North 40 that will also host a BBQ Sunday evening, an "Ask the Experts" panel presentation Tuesday afternoon, and be a social gathering spot for Mooney pilots in the North 40 during the week.  There are also two Mooney-focused panels on Monday and Wednesday at Airventure Forums.  So should be plenty of chances to connect with other Mooniacs.

Mitch and I will be there all week.  The challenge remains a central meeting location as everyone has their own agenda.  One suggestion is to try to meet up before Lt. Dan Band on Friday night.  I mean you have to get there early to get a row of seats. Ask me how I know. Usually he is in the Theater in the Woods, but this year looks to be right in Phillips Center [used to be Aeroshell Square].  So I guess we can scratch the idea of saving seats.

Mitch and I will be at the Caravan BBQ, the Mooney Forums [M and W], playing in the EAA concert band Wed eve, helping at the Flying Eyes booth in the Fly Mart, and presenting for GAMA/Build-A-Plane.  Whew.

Wearing your Mooney gear is a good start!  We will bring items to the forums in case you are lacking in that department.  What a fun time!
