Oshkosh for "Newbies"..

My lady is a "fine bouche"' she likes blond and red beers only. We actually went to a beer fest last week-end and she had a good time. I was the designated driver :-) We'll try to bring with us some different types to share with friends... not in great quantity but great quality !

Be sure to visit the large Beer Tent just outside the main gate. Lots of cold beers to select from and the bikini clad servers are a sight to behold.

That was my next question about AirVenture... is there a beach around? I want the wife to include the bikini in the luggage!

There is plenty of great American beer nowadays, but it doesn't come from Bud/Miller/Coors/etc.  Back in 2003 I was working with a multi-company team that included some Brits from Rolls Royce and we were all in San Diego.  They admitted that the US was finally making some proper beers and they didn't mind staying over here anymore.  Since then there are probably 10x more small breweries making some great stuff!  My last trip to OSH in 2010 didn't reveal any good beer at the on-site vendors, so you might have to venture outside of the fence to a beer store or any of the bars/restaurants to get some good stuff.  Best to camp on the field, and bring a cooler for beer and food.

 

Wish I could go this year, but I've got a higher priority July vacation trip (at least via Mooney) and a wedding to plan/pay for.

Lake Winnebago, just east of the field is quite nice and has some good beach areas. There are more than a few women who wear their bikinis under a wrap, on hot days at the show.
