So I put the ad for this on barnstormers.com and get a call today from a blocked number......so this guy make an offer and then wants to pay COD.....seemed shady to me......does anyone pay COD anymore?

I've used UPS COD recently as a buyer. The seller suggested it. I handed the UPS driver a bank check and he handed me my box which I opened immediately.

I remember a couple of your post looking for a used 430 a while back, did you decide to go with one of the new models?

I am selling a Garmin 430W, rack, backplate, antenna, and install kit. Asking 7,200. I will have pictures and more info after I get home from work

I am also looking at doing the same you did: Get a 430W for my bird when the price drops a bit. As N601RX said, why do you sell it now? Any bad experience? I recall your posts inquiring about the CDIs etc.

Unit is sold....I am still interested in one but just dont have the funds to do all the mods that I am wanting.....for now the GX-50 will have to do.  I just don't fly in the IFR environment often enough to justify it.  Who knows maybe I'll look at the IFD440 in the future....

Unfortunately they are a few buyers out there who will buy something like this and then remove internal parts from it to fix their non working unit with and then place the bad parts back in your unit and notify you that it arrived dead and want to return it. With electronics its almost impossible to prove. I suspect someone pulled this on me on ebay a while back, but have no way to prove it other than it worked perfectly when I sold it and when I googled the buyers name several people had problems with him.

All of my Avionics auctions , specify a 14 day return policy , but ONLY if shipped directly a factory authorized retailer / installer .... I have never had a problem in over 500 transactions...
