I know my home airport has air at the SS fuel farm and I believe others around here do as well. Is that not a thing in other places?

I've never seen air at a self serve 100LL fuel pump. But I've only landed in 18 states, none of them Kalifornia.

I use a CO2 inflator for my bike. I have one in my Mooney toolkit but have never used it. I've used it several times on the bike. The advantage is it can just sit at the ready for years. This inflator looks cool but the downside is making sure the battery stays charged.

My experience with CO2 in BIKE tires is that they go flat VERY quickly; like a day or two.  Maybe a leak stop tube in a Mooney tire would hold CO2 longer?

While I agree that this is a really cool little pump, when is the last time anyone here has had a low tire away from their home base airport that wasn't a complete flat that needed a tire or tube replaced?

I was wondering about this.

I've got a Milwaukee M18 18V Cordless Tire Inflator that lives in the hangar.

Milwaukee tools are nice! But I bet you could buy one of these little inflators for your Mooney, each of your vehicles and one for each of your children, and spend less than you did on the one Milwaukee Cordless Tire Inflator that lives in your hangar.

The little inflator is better than nothing, and just plug it into your lighter socket on the panel every now and then and it'll stay ready to use.

After all of these stellar reviews I almost pulled the trigger and ordered one.  But I asked myself when was the last time, in eight years of plane ownership, that I had needed to 'top off' my tires?  Answer: About twice a year in my hangar and using my existing air compressor.

If I have a need while 'on the road' it's going to because I get a flat!  Not just a 'couple of psi' to bring them 'into spec'.

Hey, I get it, it's a cool product and not much $$.  It honestly makes more sense for my land vehicles that can develop 'slow leaks' that it might be useful away from home.  Maybe I'll buy one after all:D

My land vehicles' tire pressure fluctuates much more with changes in the weather than does my Mooney. But if I keep one in my truck, it'll be there when I go the airport. And it looks much simpler to use than my compressor (no hose to get out and put away at home, no extension cord at the hangar, etc. ).

Well then you don't need one. But it's a cute little tool.

ETA: honestly it sounds ridiculous (USB?) but it makes things so easy; I otherwise would have to remember to put my compressor in the trunk/cargo area, drive to the airport, etc.

Just for the record, I did not say what you quoted me saying about the compressor.  That was @MikeOH

Oh sorry, nested quotes and all.
