After four years, way too much money, and lots of bearing of claws ans gnashing of teeth, I have passed my private checkride. Must have rescheduled that test 20 times. Weather, plane, me, and instructure issuses, I am sure he was tired of seeing my name scheduled for a check ride.

I am much ligter on my feet today with all the weight that is now off my shoulders.

Way to go David!  I'm sure it seemed like a long road to get here but the long road is the one that is ahead of you and the possibilities are endless.  Enjoy the ride and share it with as many as you can.  Congratulations!!

BTW - I love your signature.

Congrats. You should be very proud of yourself, its a great acomplishment. Be safe, and never stop learning.

That is happy news congratulations!  It is worth all that work, and I agree about the instrument rating.

Thanks Rob.  We haven't received our copy yet. Seems like California is last on the delivery list!  I saw it online.  And it should be mentioned that Mitch took the photo from his beautiful Ovation

First things first--congratulations on getting all finished up!

Now go fly some and just enjoy flying for flying's sake. Putter around, go places, enjoy using what you've spent so much time and effort learning and earning.

This fall will be plenty soon enough to worry about Instrument Training. I took two years to knuckle down and get serious about Instruments. There's no rush.

In the meantime, you can always shop for your own Mooney! Cool

Congrats.  Add me to the list of people who recommend you start the instrument rating immediately.  You never know when you might need it...

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I have my IRF book coming allready in the mail, but I need to summon up the motivation.

I do feel the need to putt around and get into the real 'air' world, alone. I have no ego, and I will be asking lots of questions so I hope all of you don't mind.
