skykrawler Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 Has anyone tried wiring a GDL-39 rs-232 to a GTN-750 and setting the input as GDL-88? The GDL-39 outputs the GDL-90 format which I think is the same the GDL-88 in the GTX-345 outputs. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 I am not an expert on this, but since the STC for the certified GTN750 doesn't show any path for an uncertified GDL39 I'm pretty this installation wouldn't be legal. The GDL39 is perfectly legal to provide advisory information to a device like a tablet, phone, handheld or yoke-mounted GPS. 1 Quote
Old Chub Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 I wired a GDL88 to a GTN750. I had to use the configuration tool off of the garmin web site and break into the 88 with the usb cable to configure. Old Chub Quote
PT20J Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 The GDL 88 is approved for interface by the GTN STC, but the GDL 39 is not. Quote
