Speed Merchant Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 I just had a new leather interior put in my 201. The interior color is light grey. The shop used black edging around the window. I would really like to replace the black edging with light grey. Any suggestions where I can purchase some? Thanks Quote
DCarlton Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Plane Plastics calls it "Window Beading" but it looks like they only have beige. Perhaps searching that term. Quote
PT20J Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 I bought some window trim from Bruce Jaegar. I ordered beige but he also had gray as I recall. It is different from the original. It is soft silicone rubber and I needed to glue it on the backside with some clear RTV, but I really like it because it doesn't get hard and shrink like the original. Bruce retired, but you could contact the company and see if they still have it available. https://www.jaegeraviation.com/home Another possibility if the Plane Plastics beading is a hard plastic would be to paint it with gray SEM Color Coat. Hank Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 I have some that looks like chrome, but it wrinkles pretty bad in the corners, especially the bottom front corners where the bend is >> 90°. Seems like it came from Spruce? Long time ago, when a new owner back in 2007 and pulled, repaired and repainted all interior panels. Quote
anthonydesmet Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Jeager interiors has grey. I actually bought grey but then went with black. I have some left over but nor sure if it would cover everything for because I did use a little on front windshield plastic and inside the windlace. But i would check https://www.jaegeraviation.com Quote

Aircraft Spruce only sells black, so that maybe where your shop got it. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/windlacedoorwelt.php This product was used alot in the automotive industry back in the 50's - 70's and you might find what you need from an auto upholstery shop or other sources. Mainly what they used was cloth windlace. https://www.ebay.com/sch/6000/i.html?_nkw=windlace+interior+trim&_from=R40 AeroComfort makes their windlace to match the leather in the interior. You might call Hector and see if they could sell you some to match it perfectly. https://aerocomfort.com/contact/ Quote
