I lost my K35 Bonanza in the flooding at KPIE. I’m considering my options and a Mooney is on my list. Does anyone rent one here in Florida so I can try one out?

There is place in Ocala that has two... when I called to rent them, they were unavailable to rent. Lots of Mooney in FL, what models are you considering?

Sorry to hear that Doug, lots of friends over at the condos at kpie had a bit of trouble with this one. Sasa sell his Bo?

Im sure Someone will hook you up with some mooney speed in altitude.

I’m thinking a J is the sweet spot but I’m mostly focussed on condition, TBO and avionics. I lost two planes in the storm - one I upgraded substantially and the second was a complete restoration. It’s time for one ready to fly, at least for a few years!

Mike - I was going to ask about the Mooney Lunch Group, will definitely attend. Where will it be? I think Sasa sold his Bo but I’m not positive. This storm took us by surprise - 40+ inches of surge in the hangars from a storm 130 miles away. I’m never rolling the dice again!

My wife and I got out of dodge (tarpon springs, actually)  and spent a lovely few days with Acclaim owner Dan Eldridge and his wife Dori. (thanks again for the kindness Dan) Came back to what reminded me of the backroads at St. Lucia.

Doug, my youngest is a senior at Florida Southern and we fly down fairly often. I have an F, but has virtually all the mods available…so a DIY J. 
If timing works, I’d be glad to let you take left seat and give you a good feel.

I’ll check with my wife when the next trip is.
