New owner, hello from Virgina

I’ve loved Mooneys ever since I did my commercial in J model 25 years ago finally pulled the trigger and bought The airplane was based HWY, 1962 M20C.  Needs some love but she’s solid.  
 

Little bit about me: I was aircraft controller for 22 years. I’m currently an accident/incident investigator in DC area . I’m also a CFII and fly a lot!

Nice!  Right down the street from you in Culpeper!

Good panel and paint.  Interior is probably the cheapest upgrade.

Like the manual retractable step.  Thought about adding that.

Congrats! Pretty airplane. Nice autopilot; someone really loved that plane back in the day.

Ah.  In your initial post you said the plane WAS based at HWY, so I thought you had moved it elsewhere.  That's a tough part of the country to find hangar space.  Did you get a hangar at HWY when you purchased the plane?

Yes I have a hanger. Definitely a who you know Hanger airport.

I just got a quote from a guy in Manassas and he said with FAA approved material $4200 for front and back, adding head rests

What a great buy!  It will be like a new plane once you finish up the interior.  I love that panel too.

You might want to inspect the landing gear downlock block for wear. It looks original in your photos.
