NewMoon Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Ok, it's the Mooney newbie again. So we are coming out of a GTN750 panel with GTX-345R. The iPad locked onto the BT signal and displayed traffic 99% of the time. In our 08 G1000 acclaim the 345 "disconnects" almost constantly. Traffic displays <30% of the time. It comes up and is gone as quick as it comes. We have a GDL-52 but it seems silly to place a battery powered device on the glare shield when I have a 345 in the G1000. I trust I am not the only one struggling. what have others done to fix this? Quote

Schllc Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Are you saying the blue tooth signal is lost so you can’t see traffic on an iPad, or that you can’t see traffic on your g1000 If it’s that you lose traffic on the g1000, it is not a blocked Bluetooth signal. When I had this problem it was the belly antenna. Quote

When I had this problem it was the belly antenna. It's actually both now as of yesterday. 1) The BT connection from the 345 to the iPad drops consistently thus no traffic displayed on the iPad. 2) As of yesterday the traffic being displayed on g1000 is now inop. "Traffic fail" is now displayed on the traffic page and a small TRFC FAIL annunciation on the bottom of the MFD. Quote
GeeBee Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Have you looked on Foreflight or Pilot to insure FIS is not NOTAMd out in the area? Quote

Sorry I was fixated on it dropping on your device, which is a common problem, not the G1000. What software is on your G1000? your MFD screen should show it when you get to your splash screen if i remember correctly. It should start with "401." Quote
