Sarasota Avionics spoke about getting Synthetic Vision. I have a WAAS G1000  and understand it can be purchased from Mooney for the G1000.

Does anyone have this feature? I wondered if it really works well and the cost to install it??

Thanks

I've got SV on a g500 and love it. Especially at night. I've had to fly around the city a few times where there's dark patches, which usually means mountains. Obviously I've studied the charts, but having SV there to reassure me is amazing.

On the G1000 and NXI it makes practicing things like the Overhead 360, precision landings etc almost too easy. A very nice addition. On the Aspen, I didnt find it to be that valuable but sure do on the Garmin stuff.

As mentioned by @mike_elliott it is a great improvement in situational awareness.
Plus, once you are used to the FPM (green circular cursor pointing exactly where you are going), the horizon line and runway signs, hand flying steep turns or approaches is very easy and precise. Since you (just guessing) and I have S-TEC 55 X installed in our aircraft, I would even state, that hand flown approaches utilizing these features often turn out to be more precise than A/P coupled approaches (I debrief my flights with CloudAhoy). GFC700 is a different thing of course.
The SVT software is already installed. You simply unlock it with the (expensive) SD card (which is bound to your G1000 system afterwards). The unlock procedure is well documented by YouTube videos.
IMHO a great addition and safety feature.
