For a 1963 C model, what grease is used for the phenolic blocks that the trim tube passes through in the tail section?  It is the one that is just inside the larger square access panel on the left side of the airplane.

I believe it is a graphite containing grease but I am not sure which type to get.  Thanks.

Just be aware that ASG 7 meets MIL-PRF-23827C Type II, and should not be mixed with Type I greases (e.g., ASG 33, Mobil 33, Royco 27), per the spec.

From the maintenance manual

Thanks for posting the manual.  I have the manual but what I was looking for was a brand name to order or something more specific.  If you go to Aircraft Spruce and put in graphite and Mil-G-3278 they bring up a bunch of greases but none mention graphite.  So I was looking for something more precise to order.

Thank you  for posting this.

I don’t think you are going to find anything premixed. You need to buy some grease and some graphite and mix them together.

The grease is Aeroshell 7.

Where is the mixing ratio found/specified?

Any specifications on the graphite (e.g. particle size)?

Be careful what you put graphite on, it can cause galvanic corrosion, especially if your near the coast and or in humidity. Depending on where it’s used and where the aircraft is located it’s possible the cure could be worse than the disease.
